MSD Ignition and DYNA S

Hello, not posted in a while, im finally getting round to rebuilding my Z/Gpz drag bike.
The bike has and MSD ignition box thing (big red box) and also a Dyna S ignition thing.
I didnt build it origionally so im trying to work out how it all goes together. I have the origional advancer thing that goes on the crank, the arm have been welded in place so there is no advance, would I be right in thinking this is beacause of the MSD being like a CDI and having its own advance curve programmed in?
Anyone on here any experience of this kind of setup?
If its not broken, fix it till it is

the dyna s advancer should rotate freely. the bob weights have probably been welded for drag racing purposes . ade woollams who is a member of the club might be able to advise you on this as he used to drag race himself
