They are different to the Z1, Z900 & Z1000-A1. The earlier model forks have a circlip at the bottom of the stantion, that lets you remove some of the stantion internals. The later model seems to contain the same components, but is swaged over, preventing their removal. Surely I can't have them re-chromed with these parts still fitted

Replacement of the early forks is relatively cheap, several people selling them for around £90 a pair, the later stantions are a bit thinner on the ground, best I've found so far is Wemoto, selling Tarrozi stantions for around £100 each.
Hard Chrome Plating & Grinding have quoted £140 inc return postage to do the job....... just not sure my forks can be re-chromed.
