brake fluid over heat

#1 PostAuthor: hillbilly » Tue Sep 11, 2012 8:36 pm

went out on sunday to rivi barn,me and a mate, was doing some hard riding ,that entailed some hard braking.by the time we got to were we were going(about 30miles)my back brake was no longer any use at all, pedal went right down with no resistance, had a slightly more exiting ride back.after the bike was left for some time, the brake started to work slightly,am i to understand the fluid is no longer any good as having been over heated.

fluid will have to be replaced you will also need to check the clearance on the rear brake adjuster/ make sure you have free play between the lever + the adjustable brake rod + make sure the calliper is not sticking on
