Gents,
Can you recommend a good machinist that knows about bike re-bores.
Most of the machinists up here (Aberdeen)are more used to Oilfield machinery
Diesels & the likes.
I have a 1015 barrel, going out to 1075 (MTC pistons)
I also want the ring end gaps done.
Cheers
Stu

this company has a very good reputation for motorcycle cylinder re boring + crankshaft reconditioning

you could also give this company a call they do diesels but have good history of rallying you will need to supply them with the pistons + the recommended piston to cylinder clearance

Just had mine done by FJ Payne in Eynsham. They do shipping service and had loads of bike stuff in. Turn around was about 3 weeks as they had guys on hols.
To bore to fit 1170 Wiseco plus check and reface surfaces, hone etc was just under £200. No idea whether that is good or not.

stu, you could try armstrong racing developements in newcastle, the lad you need to speak to is called kev armstrong, he gets all my boring/honing jobs, used him for years, hope this is of some use, tricky.

£200 sounds about right for what you got done.
Taffus has now sorted me out I think
If not I have managed to get a hold of an ex mechanic who can take the job on price he is charging is £150
Thanks for the pointers guys
