stumped on the final job! Tarozzi's arrived today from Disco Volante. Gear linkage side goes together lovely but can i be damned if I can work out how or where the brake master cylinder mounts to the frame.

Anyone with Tarozzi's and a rear disc can you post up some close up pictures please? There are no obvious frame mountings and i am wondering whether I am again suffering from the curse of the box of bits special? I've looked in Mr Marsden's book, Clymer and official manuals and cant see any pictures of 900 with a rear disc.

Mine has! Like I said box of bits special. Diagram for the rearsets clearly says Z900 rear disc model on it but only shows the footrest parts.

if you read dave marsdens link above he states that his frame was possibly a z1000 ltd model which did have a rear disc but the z900a4 came with a drum brake. on the ltd the mounting was a bit further up the frame tube when the side panels where on you could see the lower mount bracket

quote dave marsden

I also did a bit of work on the rear brake set up. The brake had been converted to disk brake so i have decided to keep this set-up. I think it was from a KZ1000 LTD model bit not 100% sure. Anyway it seems to fit and work ok. I have powder coated the rear pedal black and painted the inner part of the caliper bracket with wrinkle finish black paint leaving the edges chrome. I know it sounds tacky but it looks ok!

I re-zinced the original torque arm bolts, so these can be re-used. Not sure what to do about the caliper body? leave it chrome or paint it black?

Not the clearest view - and probably not the best solution

Martin,
I will post a pic later ( camera is playing up)

But to let you know, I used the standard z1000a1 reservoir with the standard rod, which connected directly to the tarrozi supplied bracket.

The rod clevis was very tight as I have a metmachex swingarm, but it did all fit in the end.

i think I have managed to sort a solution. I found an old Brembo master cylinder and and mounted that to an alloy plate. It seems to work but now have not got a suitable pipe. Special thanks to Z1000puddin for the photos.
