oil change

Hi all
Thought I give the old girl an oil change today, Drained old oil put new filter in
refilled with new oil. problem is it only took 2 liters of oil and is above site glass. check old oil and measures about the same amount! What did I do Wrong never happened to me before.

you did take the sump plug out as well as the filter housing and its drain plug?

sorry if it appears an obvious question.

if the answer is yes I'd be tempted to drop the sump to investigate further - blockage maybe ?

God I must be getting old! always undo the main drain as well as the filter. :oops: :oops:

Oil level always drops after you have initially ran the engine as the filter sucks up some of it. I did my yearly oil and filter change in June . it appears Castrol GTX is no longer any good as its now Semi Synthetic and causes the clutch to slip at about 4k rpm :?? .So I changed it for Rock oil part synthetic ( No idea what the difference is ). But after doing 25 miles the clutch no longer slips :) well hopefully.

Interesting that as Mine slips at that point currently and I am running GTX,
I will double check if its semi synth.

Using GTX in mine with no clutch slip at all

GTX semi ---- Edersee and back; no clutch slip.

MRE Lock-up clutch.... wouldn't even know it was fitted (apart from the modified clutch casing).... no slip with any type of oil :wink:
