Time to give up perhaps

#1 PostAuthor: carpy » Tue Jul 17, 2012 9:40 pm

Had a great day wrecking everything today. First off bolting the camchain tensioner on the housing cracked off at the top bolt position, wasn't even giving it some either. Whilst I was staring at that in disbelief I noticed a drop of oil on the barrel at the back, closer inspection revealed that the boss that the cam cap bolts into was nearly cracked off, seriously peed off. When I can find my cable I'll upload a photo. What's the going rate for a z1000 a2 head, anyone know?

Find a good aluminium welder - I've saved a lot worse than that!

Carpy, don't let it get you down. Just pack it up and come at it another day.

A mate had just finished doing up a Z1A, when it fell off his lift stand. He just picked it up and saw there were no leaks, then left it for a month. He now laughs about the incident!
