Lester Alloy, Brake Linings

#1 PostAuthor: Steve R » Thu Jul 12, 2007 7:32 pm

I have a pair of Lester alloy wheels that I am going to strip/ paint and polish ,but I think the Brake drum lining is a bit marginal, I havent worked out how to measure it accuratly yet.
Any way the question is can they be relined , who does it and how much does it cost?
Any one know?

Try Classic Brake Services at Whaley Bridge, nr Stockport. 01663 732025. Never used them personally, but they do a lot of classic racing stuff.

Steve, there used to be a company in Towcester, [i think], who used to offer the service you are looking for. There was an article on them in either Classic Mechanics or classic Bike, a while ago.
Sorry, can't remember their name. If you don't have any luck with Classic Brake Services, let me know, i will try to find out a name/address.
Four pipes rule, anything else is second best.
