Just bought a set of NOS rings for my ol' Z1000J engine.

Which one of the two compression rings is supposed to be the top one ? There's one, which is as black as cast and the other looks chromed to me ?

Black one is usually the second ring.

Ring gap for both top and second ring is 0.2 to 0.4 mm.
Wear limit is 0.7mm.
