Friend of mine has a Z1r which he has owned since nearly new and he is having constant problems with the wiring. Does anyone know if a replica is available (like the Z1 ones)?

Thank compo, I thought that was the case as I couldn't see any on the Z-power site (although that doesn't always mean anything). I think it has been repaired many times over the years and the connectors are all a bit brittle. He's coming down to Bristol soon so hopefully I'll catch up with him and find out a bit more about the issues. Thanks for the kind offer of your spare loom, I'll let you know if he needs it. Cheers.

That's interesting, not sure if MKII is same as Z1R though? Pretty sure it could be adapted by someone with a bit of wiring know-how.

due to the z1r fairing it will need to be adapted to the clock loom which is z1r only

Hi,
I used to have quite regular wiring things happening with my Z1-R. I made a complete new one (several times) with all the wire & connectors from here:
http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu
All you need is the original one as a pattern and the colour diagram from the manual. I found it better to build the loom actually on the bike too.
The latest reincarnation of mine uses waterproof mini connectors.
Hope that is some help

Thanks Howie, that is an option although not as easy as buying a repro

Does Dave Ennis still recondition looms? he did mine a million years and 50,000 miles ago and it's still going strong, it was all horrible and scotchblocked and everything
