When replacing the std size Z1/Z900 piston rings who do you recommend to get them from regarding quality and price, are there manufactures to avoid .
I notice z power are selling them for £45 a set ( 1 piston ) is there anywhere else you would consider buying them from ?

Thanks Sneck

I fit a lot of piston rings and I can tell you that original are superior quality. The cheap pattern ones lose their spring tension very quickly if you do some regular riding.I am sure others will say they have had no problems but there is no substitute for quality even if they are a litle more expensive. My motto is do the job once!!

Absolutely agree Gez. There is no substitute for quality regarding piston rings. Ring supplier for Japanese bikes will likely be Riken. Don't compromise.
Base materials, ring profiles, coatings. Absolutely essential they are correct.
Ring coatings (for reduced wear) are developed in house by the good manufacturers and take years to develop and are covered by patents. GDC, CKS, PVD. Only Suppliers to the OEMs will certainly have these technologies.
