Sounds more like a dodgy plug? If its an NGK, they seem to be iffy?
Swap 1 & 4, see if problem moves? If not, swap leads, they are both the same coil, so thats OK!
If its still No 1, carb could be flooding? Air screw out 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 turns.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Hi
Having suffered a similar problem on all 4 pots. I tried other plugs. I did have a faulty coil lead and also a sticking float valve. check compression also. Should be 140-145psi on all 4
good luck

Only ?33 for 4 kits to rebuild from Z1 enterprises @ (todays rate), if you do it yourself, piece of piss, that's where I got mine, runs great now.......
Air screws: I have a book that says as much as 2 and a half turns out as 1-1 and a half is too rich, Something you will have to try for yourself, no 2 air mixture screw seats are gonna be identical.....

p.s If you've got genuine Kz carbs (3 screw) the balance screws will be under carb tops (If you don't already know) , not as z1...

Air screws: I have a book that says as much as 2 and a half turns out as 1-1 and a half is too lean, Something you will have to try for yourself, no 2 idle seats are gonna be identical.....

Carbs with screw under carb throat, near cylinder, is a FUEL enrichening adjuster. This one will let extra fuel in the more it is opened (anti-clockwise = richer)
Carbs with AIR screw, on inlet side, lets more air in, weakening mixture (anti-clockwise = weaker).
Therefore, if its air jet screw, be aware that further out is WEAKER.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Correct Mr Pigford, I was referring to the latter not the former.Should have been too rich (not lean), on my carbs', not sure what models other carbs you mention were fitted to....
