Can you get a needle roller conversion for Z1/A/B?
I've seen them for Z900/1000 @ Z1 enterprises/Z Power but not for Z1.
Want to do away with the 141.5 spacer cos mine is damaged hence replacement std bearings/sleeves ain't an option (cost too much to get one made and I havn't seen NOS/Repro ones for sale anywhere).

comparing the part numbers on the z1.a/b to the z900a4 the part numbers are the same

I could be talking some rubbish here now, but doesn't the spacer provide some rigidity when the swing-arm pivot bolt is tightened up, rather similar to the spacers found in the wheels between the L/H & R/H wheel bearings ?
Removing that spacer without replacing it for something similar would mean that tightening the swing arm pivot bolt would tend to crush the frame into the swing-arm, restricting movement.

Rosco & Cat3, They do fit Z1,Z1A & Z1B....
For years I left these needle-roller swing-arm bearing alone, however, when they came out with the double needle-rollers either end , I went for them.

I thought, as Cat3, and knew how critical that distance piece was with the original set-up. However, when you inspect the roller swing-arm parts, you find...

The two cast steel or phosphor-bronze bearings are replaced by two sets of needle rollers.
The distance piece and the two steel bearings are replace with one solid ground steel shaft.
The end caps are replace by two slim thrust washers.
You use the original spindle

You will find the fit is easy and result is great.

For the real perfectionist/ purist, you can notice the end caps look slightly bigger and do not look the same as original.... Not as bulky as the Z1000 ones. Other than that perfect.

Thanks for all the replies guys, Z power sell replacement spacers tubes and pricing up the needle roller conversion @ £150+ (Dave Marsden says the kit he sells doesn't fit the Z1 only Z1000) I've decided to stick with new plain bearing set up at £60 all in.
