I am building my Z1A but it is about 8 years since I stripped it all down.

I have a mass of cables and connectors under the clocks and I am about to refit headlamp shell but I cannot remember where all the cables fit.

does all this gummings fit inside the headlamp shell through the big hole at the back of the shell or dous it all just sit outside the shell under the clocks?

I have a Z1000 A1 1977 model and I've got a problem with the live feed to the headlight shorting to earth, so I took out the headlight to find a mess of wires and connectors that someones bodged in the past.

I would've thought those connectors should be in the headlight shell to protect them from the elements, and in my manual it shows a block connector
in the headlight shell. But because mine has been hacked about the block
connectors are half in and half out!!

They are meant to be in the headlight shell.....tight fit....but they do go in
