I've just had an advisory on my front brake discs on my Z1000 A1/2 (1978)
I can't see any for this model on Z Powers website. Any ideas which other models have these same discs for interchange.
Any pointers to a supplier for these?
The current discs are drilled and are measuring at around 4.56mm. The wear limit I understand is 4.5mm.
The few I have seen which may fit are £200 ish a side
Any ideas ?

Pretty sure that all the 4 bolt discs from Z900/Z1000/Z1R/MK.2 should fit.
Later discs are factory drilled.
Maybe worth ringing Z-POWER as they don't list everything on the website.

Jack's right. Any 4-hole Z900/Z1000 should do.
Loads on ebay around the £30 mark

there is no minimum wear limit in the MOT testing manual. the only reason for failure on a brake disc is if it is warped or cracked. being under the manufactures wear limit is not a failure. if the brakes are working as they should i would leave them as they are

The only reason an mot person would pick this up is by reading the stamping/casting on the disk, I have never had anyone check any of mine.

If they are badly scored then yes they would comments.

If you do decide to change them then any 4-bolt ones for a 1000/900 would be fine, but be careful as many ebayers sell z650 discs which are a smaller diameter as they don't know better.

Personally I would go EBC prolites if your buying new ones but as long as you have an mot I would not bother. Just take it soemwheer else next time. (Also look at the thickness of modern discs compared to these, I am sure youre's are actually fine.)

Thanks everyone. I would say they are fine to. No bad scoring at all and generally in good nick. Just a bit over zealous on the testing I think.
