They can be used on other heads as long as you know what you are doing.

I know these can be used on other heads, but these have had the mating surfaces bead blasted, so based on that reason only i would not use them and would say this particular set needs to go in the bin, i am one of the guys that have reused cam caps on different motors, although they were originally line bored in place, the beauty of cnc machining and tools used for only a limited amount of heads makes it reasonably easy to be able to interchange these caps, although care must be taken that when doing so it does not clamp the cams.

Kev, you know that I always have respected your opinion, however, that bead blasting would have little or no effect on the dimensions of the clamps.

These cam-caps are not interchangeable, however, as Zed1015 says they can be fitted if you know what you are doing! Sometimes you can just fluke it!

Without opening up a huge can of worms, in the ad it actually says they have been shot blasted, so even i would not use them, as for the time old debate they are not interchangable my own view is that they were made on very good cnc machinery with very close tolerances and then a bearing shell placed in, which can vary a little in thickness and can also be replaced as an aftermarket part and over a forty year period there has bound to be a few variations in thicknesses, also has someone on the forum actually bought new caps some years ago from kawasaki.

Again! Shot blasted or not, No problem using them if you know what you are doing.
Arm yourself with a surface plate, internal bore gauge,a new set of shells, plastigauge and some wet'n'dry + some patience and a small amount of intelligence = job done.
Very old, done to death subject
Most shops will tell you it can't be done ONLY because either they couldn't be arsed or the labour could out weigh the cost of a second hand replacement head.
Go to any decent engine reconditioner or proper engineer (not fitter) and they can do it if you are prepared to pay the £££££.
