ok, fired up the zed got it to run(ish)whilst running the two centre carbs piss fuel. guess this could be nuemerous things(sticky float valves or bowl not secured properly dunno but did strip n rebuild) Next, whilst running spy some smoke. Its off the main battery +ve lead insulation melting. yes it got that hot! now lots got powder coated, so i believe it may be a poor earth somewhere? dunno could be right or wrong. Can any of you gurus enlighten me on these snags? any help appreciated thanx

Had my carbs re-built on my 1000A1 they all leaked badley from the float bowl joint so I spoke to the guy who re-built them he said do not try to tighten the bowls as the cause of of the leak is new or dryed out gasket, allow a few days to soak up a bit of fuel and expand to make a good seal he was spot on my carbs are fine now

Smoking '+' lead.... short somewhere... not a bad earth! Probably starter???? If heavy red lead smoking, must beanother heavy lead shorting somewhere. Check by feeling other leads if warm. Best to disconect battery.... If fuse not blown trace leads from battery NOT heading to fuse!
