Does the club still swap shims via Jerry? Need 240, 245 and 265 to give me 2-4 thou clearance.

Ex 4 on 2.5 thou clearance but has a 200 shim fitted. I guess that implies head off time (soon) and slight skim on the valve top? Or has anybody have an alternative solution?

Contact Jerry for 29mm shim swaps or me if you need the smaller 13mm shims.

Valve tips can be ground by 0.3mm according to the manual, but by a bit more than that if needed.

Some people may have shims as small as 1.80mm I believe these may be from some Yamaha models, so if you can source some, that would keep you on the road for a little longer, before the head has to come off.

Apparently, grinding shims is highly frowned upon.

Thanks GB.

I hadn't checked my Z1 shims for ages and recently noted the engine was difficult to start from hot suggesting too little valve clearance. Checked out today and noticed 0 clearance at no 3 ex and nos 1 and 4 inlets. Oops dont want to be burning out valve seats. :|

Searched high and low for these and couldn't find any. They did exist but aparantly Yamahaha delisted them some time back.
