Anyone one know what the correct needle jet size is for a 1979 Z1000 MKII (A3) - UK Spec - Mikuni VM28SS Carbs
258 O-?
(Kawasaki Manual says O-4 but thats for a US spec A3A)
My bike has 258 O-1
I've no idea which is correct - anyone know?

There was a lot of change of models and pollution controls around that era, however, the "needle jet", as far as I know, is matched to the "jet needle".
So I would check the size of the jet needle, usually stamped on the shank of the needle.
You will be able to check what groove the clip it is set on, when checking the needles.
Clymer says a 5C17 needle matches a 0.4 needle jet.
A 5CN18 jet needle matches a 0.6 needle jet.

My needles are 5CN15 - any idea which needle jet that matches?

5CN15 is on a similar Z1R (78 non-emission), which has a 0-1 needle jet (Ref Clymer).

O-1 seems to make sence then - thanks for your help.
