Not strictly Z related, but does anyone know when the zzr1100 wheels changed from the flat solid cast type to the rounder spoked zrx type? Alternatively does anyone know a link to a spec/model history site that may give this info? Thanks.

I wasn't aware that they changed from the flat style.
Have looked on ebay and loads of pictures of late zzrs and the only one to be more like the ZRX is the ZZR1200.
Hope this helps.

i don't think they changed the design throughout its models as garyd said the rounded type are fitted to the zzr1200

This is the problem. I believe the earlier c models were fitted with the flat type as were some of the first d models, however they changed at some point to the rounder hollow spoked zrx type at some point during the d model production. From what I can tell it seems to be around 1998. Check out some pictures on google, there are plenty showing the rounder 'zrx' type.
Anybody know when the 1100 changed to 1200?

i have never seen any other design of wheel other than these in the zzr1100 throughout the entire manufacture period 1990-1997 + i have been in the motorcycle trade for over 30 years at a kawasaki dealership

Thanks for that. Maybe it is just the 1200 that shares the same wheels with the zrx? Thanks for taking the time to post, much appreciated.
