Has anyone else renthalls?
I think the horn workd by eathing onto the bars when pressing the horn button, renthalls being ali don't conduct.
Do you have to run an earth to the left hand controls, and if so how and where do you connect.
I'm having several probs with my wiring now I'm re-assembling and each thing I try to get to work doesn't

Hi just checked my bike I had to run a separate earth cable from the horn clamp(simple push button horn) to an earthing point on the frame.

Pretty sure ally will conduct.
Are you sure the bars are making a good contact with the Yoke...and then the yoke has to make good contact with the frame...through the headrace bearing?

just short out the handlebar with a piece of electrical wire directly to the battery negative if the horn works you will need to make a earth connection from the nut which holds the handlebar clamps to the top yoke 14mm nut underneath the top yoke. if this does not work you either have a problem with the horn or the switch is not making a good earth to the handlebar's

Ally most definitely does conduct - although you may need to remove some of the natural oxidation. Are the bars isolated with rubber mounts? That'll be your problem if there is no bypassing wire, I reckon.
