Metal adhesive

The incredibly slow refurbishment of the top end of my (trike) 1981 Z1100A1 engine is coming on, thanks to really useful help from members of this forum.
Yesterday, with a roll of drums, I replaced the cam cover and finally nipped it up this morning. The right-hand bolt halfway along the chain tunnel felt spongy almost immediately then slackened. The thin-walled casting has broken away, exposing the thread. Perhaps an over-long bolt was forced in sometime. The crack surface is dirty except for the final few mm at the bottom, so someone else had been there before me. Of course I should have seen it when the head was on the bench.
I am hoping that it is a blind hole i.e. that I haven't got an engine oil leakage problem.
The proper thing to do would be to remove the head and throw away its £50 Cometic gasket, have it welded up, re-machine it and so bloody on.
Is there a modern adhesive that would hold it back together?
I am hoping that the new gasket and the other 19 bolts will be able to seal the lid on.

At work i used this to do temporary repair to a casting holding a gear box and oil about 5 years ago. The gearbox leaked through the oil seals on the shaft. these were changed about two years after. i checked the repair it looked excellent and its still on going strong today.
whether its up to your job Corpy i cannot be sure but its worth a thought as it should stand a reasonable temperature and resists oil.

Iv'e used this also on lightly stressed areas with success - believe it or not I also repaired a alloy car cylinder head in the gasket fire wall sealing area it lasted 2 years !

Secret is to clean off all oil residues - carburetor cleaner is good for this
