Modern wire wheels with cable drive speedo?

Have any of you guys used or do you know of 17" modern wire wheels that you can use the cable drive of the Z's? When doing my build i want ot get 160 rear & 120 front rubber on my 650. This may of course be a non starter anyway as im sure you cant recalibrate the Z's clocks, i would put some Zephys clocks on to keep the original look but i havent looked into wheather they work or not.

The 750 zeph wire wheels are the obvious choice which would solve all your problems.
Trouble is they were a limited run for one year and much sought after.

Cheers Zed, i had an idea they done wire wheels on the 750 Zephyr's but didn't know they were scarce! Well i've got a good while to look about them, i think they're double disc too which also helps, if they're 300mm discs then im on a mission to find em, in fact if i need the wheels & clocks i might just buy a donor bike cos the engine fits in the 650 too.

Bugger! didn't know that Chris, that means it wont fit under the ER6 Mudguard so its a non starter unless i run no front muddy

Have had a couple of 750 zeph's go through my hands, the wheels ARE 17" front and back.
Front takes 120/70/17
Back takes 150/70/17
The 1996 Classic was the one with spoked wheels, Wish i has fitted mags and kept the spokes when i sold it.

Maybe the 750 ones are 17" then, mine are off an 1100 and it's definitely an 18" front and a 17" back unless I have the wrong front tyre on it....
I thought they were all the same. Rear tyre for the 1100 is a 160 so that's another difference. I only ever saw one 750 with wire wheels many years ago, it was a german bike obviously visting. I have never seen an 1100 with wires except in Micky Hesse's book.

If you could get hold of a wheel and/or hub there would be nothing to stop you having the hub re-spoked onto a rim size of your choice ? You'd only have to get a rim with the correct number of spoke holes in it. This might be another avenue to explore.
