Bit of advise please, took the head off my 250 engine, the pistons and head are covered in carbon, got new pistons and rings, can I use a wire brush on a drill to clean the head, or is that a big no no ?

Don't use a steel wire brush - too agressive... :??

Soft brass is OK - or carefully scrape with a flattened copper tube or summink softer than alluminium if possible

Wire brush and dettol....

You don't say how bad (caked hard) it is but if not too bad then you could try some fine(ish) wire wool and redex, dont forget the latex gloves.

Soak in nitromores paint stripper then rinse off - no risk of scratching and comes clean
