Just about to set up my carbs & in particular the float height (VM28SS carbs / Z1000 MKII).
As the carbs are off the bike I'm measuring the actual float height rather than the service fuel level.
A member on the forum was kind enough to give me the float height measurement for these carbs as 26mm +/- 1mm (data from a Clymer manual)
My question is what to use as the datum point on the carb e.g.
1.Carb body outside casting ?
2.Carb body gasket face with gasket removed?
or
3.Carb body gasket face with gasket in place ?
Can ayone tell me which is correct ?
