Hi
I was replacing the seals on the front forks of my Z1A. During the strip down I took out the springs and didn't pay any attention to how they came out. On reassembly I noticed that they are progressive springs and at one end of the springs they where slightly more compressed than the opposite end which appear to be more open.
My question is which way are the springs put back into the forks. Compressed end at the top or the bottom or does it matter as long as both springs go back in the same way.
Thanks guys for any help

Progressive Springs

Good question - can't see it really matters
The proper "racers" won't use them as it complicates handling issues - hard to tune the suspension as you don't know what part of the spring rate is acting or when.
I think they're more of a "placebo" effect. Truth is that when you fit progressive springs, you're replacing very old ones anyway, so even new standard springs would be a revelation
I suppose they're no more (maybe less) expensive than the OE springs, and won't make too much difference either way on an old Zed

And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
