As already said Electrax is the way to go. I fitted one to my Z900A4 a few years back and never had to top up the battery again. Basically it does exactly what it is supposed to and a bargain at ?45 quid compared to seconhand prices for the original seperate units.

Recieved this morning said item :D
check part and invoice says nothing about Z1-R :?:
So i ring them up,spoke to the lady again just to clarify it is for my zed and she confirms :up
It also comes with connector block so i enquire it will have to be cut does this make any warranty void :?:
No she say,but they have the opposite block with terminals supplied which will be sent free of charge.
so far so good, will check it against the old unit(no connectors ever supplied there) and see if i can fit it in the same place as the old one or find it a new location :ed

Well new unit bigger than the previous one so that(as well as many other places) wont fit there.
So have decided(its the only place i can find to fit with air flow) is directly under the headstock (as on Triumphs) so spent the afternoon designing a bracket to fit. That done its off to the machine shop to get one knocked up and start with the re-wire :fly :ed
