ZRX1200

#1 PostAuthor: RUDDY » Sun Jan 08, 2012 7:44 pm

I missed out on buying one of these new in 08, sat on it quite a while in the showroom but ended up buying a GSXR instead.

Been looking at them again lately, trouble is my 2010 GSXR only has 930 miles on and I'd need to find a dealer with a ZRX in stock willing to do the right deal, I have seen a couple in dealers on Ebay, both 08 platers in green, one at KJM Superbikes and one at Autorama (I think).

Any advice available on ZRX's or anyone know the above dealers.

Cheers, Paul

Paul, I don't know the dealers you mention but it's a fair bet that the trade-in value they, or any dealer, will give you will be eye-watering. ZRX owners are usually full of praise for them and several members on here have one. I have had an 1100 and just acquired a 1200. Have you visited/joined the ZRX owners club ( http://www.zrxocboard.com/board/index.php )? Well worth it if contemplating buying one.

Good luck, Simon.

Hello Paul.

KJM are just a couple of miles down the road from me.The owner of KJM has taken over most of the other bike dealers in the area over the last few years so he must be doing something right.
The zrx is universally praised and is more sought after now that they are out of production.I remember looking at one at the Rocket centre in Blackburn a few years back and their show model seemed to hang about for ages.
As ever, when something becomes unavailable, people want it more!!!.

Ruddy , Keith Mason KJM Superbike are a mile up the road from me but they are certainly keen on their prices .
They are quite a large concern and you can only ring and ask though .
Of course its a business and they will have numerous overheads but they are keen

Cheers guys, I'll speak to them tomorrow, I notice they have listed in their extensive stock a GSXR the same as mine but with higher miles, its £2k dearer than the ZRX so not sure if he'll deal cash my way.

Also found out my mate bought his ZRX from them and said they were ok to deal with.

Plus I got the thumbs up from the mrs

Cheers, Paul

Spoke to KJM today, they seemed happy to do a deal on my GSXR with cash back my way. Guess I'll have to get my arse out of bed and go for a look to get it or ......get it out of my system.

Did a read up on the zrx site, some good advice on things to check.

This is the bike the dealer has, not a fan of the belly pan , Beuwolf exhaust ??

Cheers, Paul

That looks a nice Rex in the best colour too. Belly pan is easily removed.

Saw Dave on it on Saturday morning, well I heard him before I saw him.

Daves only 5 minutes from my front door, known him since we were at school with M****s, then RS2000's. He stuck with his bikes and I strayed for a while.

Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul,
I have a zrx1200R. cant think of a better bike (apart from the zed that is). It does all i want, handles well, goes well, comfy, looks the bollox, etc etc. there's nothing else about that i would want to change it for, only problem is there's loads of things you can do to them,
i've fitted a full Akropovic, ignition advancer, k&n filter, dynajet kit etc etc. Its got 130bhp and 82ft bls of torque. so its really easy to ride, loads of grunt etc.
I would be very suprised if you didnt like it.
Z1b, z900 A4, zxr750 m2, zrx1200
Z1000 (2003) lawson thingy,
Z1000 (2004) z1b lookalike ,
Z1000j lawson race bike,
Gsxr750H.

Why not try to sell your bike first , then you could open your options of buying ie private or trade.

Hi, I'd just double check that paint scheme.......can't find any 'factory' pictures that match that.
