#1 stay cold longer

#1 PostAuthor: jcote75 » Mon Jun 04, 2007 12:57 pm

Hi,

First. I bouth a bike that hasn't been on the road for 6 or 7 years. It was started annualy but thats it. I'm actualy giving it a good tune up and put it back on the road.

Wires and plug have been change already and carbs clean up.

When I start the bike, #1 stay cooler for a few minute if I compare to other cylinder when I touch the pipe.

After maybe 2 minute, they seem to be all equal (untouchable....)

Also, this is probably because I'm use to new bikes but I don't feel that I've got a lot of power of 5,000rpm. Maybe this is relate to the #1????

I haven't done anything on the point system yet.

Those anyone have a clue on this?

This is on a 1984 z1100R.

Thanks for your help,
Joce

# 1 is either bad plug (it'd be # 1 & 4 if points or coil) or carb has probably some sh*t in it, especiallyh as its been standing for so long. May need several attempts to clean out properly. Recheck float level too :!:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

1100R should have plenty of power if it's running properly.
