GENUINE AND REP FENDERS..

#1 PostAuthor: gordon62 » Tue Jan 03, 2012 5:35 pm

as the question ask, for example, Z Power sells, original and repro fenders, for z900/1000 etc, can you tell them apart, apart from the price.....or are they as good as each other?

I have seen genuine and pattern front and rears.
You can get away with a pattern rear ok but the pattern front looks thinner and not as well made - and it is right on show.
If you have a decent genuine front one better go for a re-chrome tham a pattern new one in my view.

Hi Andy

the short ones look good if you want a bit of a sportier look and from what I saw on the Z Power stand at Stafford they look pretty good quality. Thinking about getting one myself if there is any money left in the pot once the engine rebuild is finished.

I guess the underlining reason for asking this question, was that I intended to get my front fender on my GS1000, re chromed, then I bought a new genuine one, and thought I sell the old one to make up the different, which is"nt that bad, I was under the impression the old one was a repro, but on comparing the two, they look totally alike :?? so have I bought another repro which did come in genuine suzuki box , or is the old one a genuine also :?: or does anyone know if they even do a repro of the original GS1000 front fender...
