carb starter plunger lever

#1 PostAuthor: bunnysZ » Mon Jan 02, 2012 12:44 pm

Should the claws on the carb starter plunger leaver be pointing up or down.
there the ones when you pull the choke out lift the starter plungers and allow more fuel into the carbs when cold.
as my ones don't go completely back down into the carb when warm.

The claw ends point down.
The plastic plunger sleeve should ride on the curved surface when operated.
Might be worth removing the choke plungers and give them a clean as grit and old fuel can gum them up and cause them to stick.

Oh! does that apply to the early carbs as well?
I'm just in the process of cleaning up a set I've bought, and this is how the holder plate came off.....claws up.
So this is arse about then?
For what it's worth the parts book shows them claws up?

Yours look correct.
The early ones are fork ends up but they have curled over ends (pointing down) for smooth operation.
Should have worded my previous reply more clearly  .
