removal of sump

when the bolts etc are removed from the oil sump is it just a matter of tapping it with a rubber hammer to loosen it up for removal.
does anyone have any tips

i recently had an issues with a sump bolt (see recent threads in bike help)
i removed sump bolts and gently tapped with a wooden block and away it came. TIP ..............i bought a cat litter tray to catch the oil

Thats it - remove all the surrounding 6mm bolts (10mm spanner) AND the oil filter - then tap with a rubber/rawhide mallet......


They can be rather stubborn sometimes :wink:
