J1/2/3 Paint / Decals placement

#1 PostAuthor: Al » Wed Dec 14, 2011 2:01 pm

Just getting the J body work re-painted and have bought the decals to go on it.
Trial fitted them and they look too short on the tank.
Could someone post a picture of the front and rear if possible so i can get a measure of the 'set-back' from the front welded seam and where they wrap round to meet the seat please.
Many thanks.

Mark the paint was done by a friend but he made me do all the prep, welding, flatting, filler, chips, stopper, final flat and setting the decals. Luckily he only charged me £250 for poncing about with the paint gun.

I think i have got my priorities right gary, bike first, carpet later. Starting to think about sanding the boards when its finished getting used as a workshop :D

Interesting advert in the brochure.

Did manufacturers really think we wanted to know about twin horns, polished carb tops, and wait for it.. Tail lights with two bulbs in their latest sportsbikes!

whats with the two front mudguards

Thanks Guy it was just a temporary weight saving thing. Strictly for 1/4 or 1/8 mile use to help with weight transfer  £20 from M&P and really solidly made for a fibreglass guard, so i thought why not paint it as well.

"Handsome weight saving aluminium side brackets" is my favourite bit.

Al, I’ve noticed that your fairing decals do not wrap around the front of the fairing as seen here on my original Z1000R fairing.

Where did you source your decals from?
