wheel rebuild

#1 PostAuthor: bob fell » Mon Oct 24, 2011 9:20 am

Hi
just go the bike through the Mot so well pleased, I do have a slow puncture though in the front wheel and the front spokes and rim are very rusty...anyway I would like to get a new front wheel built the back wheel is alloy rim and stainless spoke and looks cool so I would like to get the front wheel the same. How do I go about this do I just cut the spokes and send the hub to somewhere like central wheels? I have the usual problem of not knowing what the front wheel is off as its twin disc so not a standard Z1B
will this matter as the hub will stay the same

any advice appreciated

Bob

Bob
I will not matter central will match it to the right rim.

I thought even z1b hubs had the option of fitting a second disk so it could be a standard one anyway.

Cheers
Phil

Gives Eccles Racing a ring too, (just tap it in google) he builds wheels and can do a good price!

Just discovered a place near where I live in Chester. Jonesrs (restoration services)they were advertised in classic mc mechanics so will try there. ref taking the wheel off I guess use two bottle jacks and a piece of wood and jack the frame up to get the front wheel off the ground ?? Always difficult with a 4-1 exhaust. Any top tips ?
