A4/thou wheel into Z1a forks?

Similar question to Paul's but in the opposite direction.

My Z1a resto project currently has a later twin disc 4 bolt hub front end and I've just acquired a set of Z1/a/b forks (not sure which model exactly) as I think they will look better (more original). I want to retain the twin disc front wheel so will I need a Z1a spindle assembly as well or will the a4/thou axle fit the earlier fork legs?

Thanks Paul. Is it a straight swap using the existing spindle/spacers etc?

Coldsummer, I hate to put a damper on progress, however, if you replace the A4 front forks with the Z1 series forks, you will also have to look at the twin calipers, as the mounting are not the same, unless you had an adapter on the original set up... Worth a look!.

I had wondered about that Garn. Presumably there would be no problem if I used earlier calipers?

You have it all covered! Not many have early twin calipers on hand.
