Hi all,
I"m in the process of preparing my GS1000 for powdercoating, and having trouble getting the bottom taper bearing out, as the inner id is smaller on the frame than the bearing, so cant tap it out, so looking to see if anyone has a taper bearing removal tool, and would be willing to lend it, I am thinking of buying one but cant afford it at the mo, bit like this one on e-bay.

If the race is sacrificial blob some weld on it and drift it out on the weld.

If you can put a run of weld round the bearing face as it cools it will shrink enough so the outer race will fall out,easy and cheap!
