Z650B1 Engine paint
Hiya all
Well I finally done the plunge and took the engine out and being stripped completely, now due to no vapor blasting here in Malta I was going to have it blasted by a bloke who does parts for Lufthansa, now once that is done I don't have a bloody clue how I'm going to get a nice finish, was thinking of painting the engine if so what would be the best paint and have anyone done it.
Cheers all

Hi mate
if you get the 650B1 engine blast cleaned - that will give you a natural alloy look that does not need painting.
The fins and crank cases can be kept nice with scotchbrite pads or 00 gauge wire wool when they start to look dirty/ stained again. The engine covers just need the laquer removing and polished up on a machine.
If you paint it you will have a non standard finish which will be higher maintenance if you keep the bike.
That's what I did anyhow.

Not at all !!!!!

It would be a bit rich for me to call anyone a "garage bound saddo" when I spend half of my life in there

I have recently even carpeted my garage and put a phone in there

Steve,
new carpet or stuff you were throwing out from the house??
What colour and pattern??
If it contains Kawasaki /Lawson green or any black K motifs or meguro badges I feel the need for a picture.
The green hornet may have need of a lair in your neck of the woods. We could go out grime fighting together on our B1s
