Would anyone happen to know the best place to take my Z1B so that the carbs can be overhauled and set up correctly. It needs to go to a performance centre with a rolling road dynamometer as the following has been done to the engine:
1100 conversion
Highlift cams (race cams)
High compression pistons (running at 175)
Dyna S ignition
Yoshimura Racer replica exhaust 4:1
Smoothbore 33mm carbs fitted.
Could do with somewhere within a reasonable distance (within 100 miles) to Warwick/Coventry

I recommend Seastar Kawasaki near Norwich, they did my 1170 ELR and it ran well around Cadwell earlier this year.

That might work for me as I could do with getting it painted but what colour should I do it in?

We have major progress today but will still take it for a carb set up!
Blinking champion plugs are useless - new set fitted a few weeks ago and after a fast run the bike started holding back and running lumpy. Fitted an iridium set today and guess what??? She is now running 100% better. Like a different bike altogether.

Well I picked up my Z1B this evening after the chap at Projex had stripped, cleaned and reset all the float heights (twice as he was not happy with the running of the bike the first time), repainted the carb tops black, fitted new fuel filters, fitted new plugs, balanced the Mikuni 33 carbs on the dyno and co2 machine and then dyno'd it numerous times to make sure that it was running perfectly. On the last run it achieved 99bhp at the rear wheel

Yesterday he got 94bhp but was still not happy with it.
The carbs also look brand new (i will post some pics and a video of the bike on the dyno as soon as I work out how to upload them off my iphone (which are crap by the way)
Bejesus does it rev fast now! The dyno states that it will reach 130mph on the road and show 140mph on the clocks.
The bike is totally different beast now and I have fallen back in love with it.
All the above for the fully inclusive price of £250.00!!

I forget to post the jpeg of the dyno read out

Sorry to wax lyrical about this but I am so chuffed.
Many thanks to Gez as well as he stripped, checked, fitted new heavy duty clutch springs and rebuilt the engine for me. He aslo got the welded crank checked to make sure that it was 100% true. There is not a trace of smoke from the engine when cold, hot or even when the engine is having the nuts revved out of it - even the guy at Projex said that the engine was 'rock solid' and the most powerful Z1 engine he had ever experianced.
