Chrome plating

Hi Guys, can anyone point me in the direction of a good chrome plater to re do front forks and a few other bits on a small project I am doing, approx how much do forks cost to have done, cant get new replacments. Cheers.

hi if they are for a z1r i think you can use the z1000 a1 fork inners + you can get them from z power

Philpotts can hard chrome forks, I think it works out about £160 - £180.
For general chroming you get excellent quality and price through our very own club member Mikey- send him a pm he may be able to sort forks but not sure.

Z1R forks and A1 forks are different to each other .

I would not ring z power as they have fork legs to sell so they will advise that they will suit , believe me they told me they would , A1 and Z1R legs are different .

a1 + z1r ( legs ) are different don't know about the inners ie chrome stantion

Yes the stanchions are completely different mate , been there and tried it after being told that they are the same by the seller of the legs .
Springs are different lengths too , and the internal dampers too are not interchangeable .

I have no axe to grind but will speak as i find , and credit where it is due you do mostly get a speedy and highly efficient service .

Sorry to spoil the thread guys but my little project is a baby Z250, the forks are pitted in places, as said cant get the new tubes, been to Z power, they have been very helpful, letting me have new parts very cheap, cause no other bugger wants them :D , any body got Mikey's pm?

try cradley kawasaki they have a very large stock of old parts it is worth a phone call + if they do have them they might do a deal if they have had them a long time 01384-633455
