Carb Issues........... still

Hi

I have just about got my carbs where they should be and just having one issue with them them that I seem to be having problems with.

Bike ticks over fine and certainly runs ok but when I go up through the box the revs don't drop. If I change gear at say 5000 revs then the revs stay at 5000 revs during the gear change.

I have checke for air leaks and everything seems ok apart from one of the sliders. No1 carb slider does'nt go all the way down. It seems to be a little tight and holds about 10mm from the bottom. If you put your finger on the top of the slider and give a little push then it will go down.

Could this be the problem with the revs? All of the other sliders are fine.

Cheers

Chris

yes this is more than likely your problem just polish the carb body with some fine wet + dry about 800-1000 grit until is goes to the bottom. do not polish the slide as it has a protective coating to prevent it from wearing in the carb body

Also have they been set up statically so that all the slides stop at the same and correct height, best to do this first then put some vacuum gauges on to fine tune them.
