Leak-Down Test ~ How Do I Do It?

#1 PostAuthor: Garn 1 » Fri Aug 26, 2011 10:20 pm

I just read Z1000Pudin's "Low Compression" Topic. He mentions some good info found from a leak-Down Test.
I've never done one of these Leak-Down test.
Can anyone tell me how it is done and what equipment I need? ... I guess I need a compressor.
RegardZ.

PS... I did a search of Leak-down Test .. I found a lot of leaks!
Leaking Carbs, Leaking cylinders, Leaking Brakes and leaking sumps along with general oil leaks!.

I made one up using an old spark plug with an adaptor brazed on for my push on conector to my compressor,an in line pressure gauge is a good idea though some compressors have an in built one, good tool to tell where leakage is occuring..
