Coil connections

I have a GPz750R1 and have some new coils for it.
There is no mention in the workshop manual about which wires go to the positive and negative terminals on the coils.
I have a choice of a red wire and a green wire on the left as you sit on the bike and red wire and black wire on the other, so which go to the +ve and which got to the -ve? Does it matter? I'm assuming it does if the terminals are marked. or maybe not!
It does say in the manual that the green wire goes to the coils on plugs 2&3 and the black wire goes to the coils on plugs 1&4, don't know if this nformation helps.
