I've decided to buy myself an ultrasonic cleaner as a reward for giving up drinking. There seems to be quite a choice, can anyone recommend a good one? Quality of finish/ease of use is more important than price (within reason).

I do not think these ultra sonic cleaners work on your liver

I bought one of these last year and it was pretty good, paid about £40 for it. They're easy to use, put the item in, switch it on, choose length of time and whether you want to heat the water. Throw some cleaner in to help it and voila. The hassle is strrpping the part you're cleaning. Main thing to look out for is size and whether the bit you want to clean is going to fit. The one I bought will fit a carb or two if stripped down, but one not four on a backing plate! I got mine from Holland.

Would you recommend it? a carb or two sounds a decent size for me does it do a good job? If so what model please.

Bought the little QC, just big enough to fit one carb body in.
If you really have stopped drinking (lightweight) you could push the boat out & buy something slightly larger.
I've had some excellent results with mine.

Simon follow these steps ................. 1 ] buy small ultrasonic cleaner 2 ] buy rubbish southern beer. .... 3 ] when its gone flat after 3 minits dont throw it away ... 4 ] place glass with beer containing said flat beverage into cleaner and switch on for 5 seconds Hey Presto no more flat beer ... 5 ] send stuff to professional ultra sonic cleaner to avoid disappointment

Keith, is that your way of expressing disappointment with the quality of beer at the weekend? I tend to agree with you, that's why I had no choice but to start on the harder stuff

It wasn't Holland, it was Belgium, near enough eh!

It works a treat, you've got to give it a few goes though. Its automatic so it turns itself off. I'd reccommend it, but there will be others out there better, but this one does the job. Don't forget the cleaner.

Stainless steel, adjustable timer, variable heater , works a treat.

I can get a couple of carb bodies in at once + a few small parts.

I would buy bigger (to fit four carb bodies) if i did it again as i use it quite frequently.

Mine was £160 at the time so prices haven't moved on that much but it looks like that they aren't getting any cheaper.
