Fitting Dyna Coils to Unitrak GPz

Just tried replacing my dodgy original coils with nice new Dyna coils. Straight swap to the original frame fitting but where the HT leads exit on the side of the coil the petrol tank no longer sits down as it should. It sits on the HT side of the coil. Original GPz exit at the front of the coil.

Anyone fitted these to a Unitrak GPz got any suggestions?

got them on my GPz b1, grey 2.2ohm. they don't touch the tank on mine but be aware that the frames they fit WILL fracture at some point. Mine have failed twice with cracks across the mounting point of the coils. they need to be reinforced or replaced with a better bracket. Zorded has a nice set of alloy ones on his :D

Are the HT connection point facing forward or rearward

HT connections are angled to the rear but protrude over the frame rails where the tank should sit. I can't see anyway to bring them in or point down without making a new bracket.

Good Point Pigford. Fitting to a Z1 series!
I have tried both ways, HT to rear . HT leads forward.
I think I decided on HT leads forward, you do have to make the leads a bit longer than the other way.
Also, a good point about needing support . I think that is because the lower part of the mount does not give clearance under the belly of the coil. So that when mounted there could be stress in the body of the coil. A simple washer under the mounts will solve this problem.
RegardZ.
Ps ....Ideally I would like the HT leads facing rear and downwards. I have not discovered a way to do this yet!

Here is what I mean. First picture standard coils:

and the Dyna coils:

I do not have this issue on my Lawson so wondered what other Unitrak owners have done.

PS I know it is not attached to the frame before any smart alec points it out :D

It make negligible difference.

So, you'll need to make new brackets so they can face down :!:

swap the brackets from left to right. the z angle will then tuck the coils further in rather push them out as they are now
