Clutch

Not for a Z but thought id ask anyway.
When i use the clutch on my GS650 its as if it is not working put it in gear and it just lurches forward and stalls.
Tried all sorts of tips to try and unstick the clutch in case the plates are sticking but to no avail.
Stripped the clutch out tonight and rebuilt it as per the factory suzuki manual
and everythings how it should be but still the same any ideas anyone?

What oil are u using? you could try a different grade or type

i could see what your getting at mark if it was slipping
but its just like the clutch aint working at all

if you have followed the manual ...sticking plates/warped plates/ clutch basket wear?

Does it ride OK when warm?

Mikey, With the cover off, can you see any movement in there when u pull the lever? Is it like the Zeds with a ball bearing on the end of the pushrod (ball dropped out), sounds like the mechanism to release the clutch is at fault. Though I have never had a Suzook GS650. Usual questions spring to mind, did it work for u before, did u change anything, did it get worse slowly etc?

No there is no pushrod etc cable goes directly to arm on top of clutch casing.
Clutch was fine before i took it off the road,
im positive everythings put back right ive done it twice.

Mikey, are you saying you took it off road working and when you came back to it, it appears to have stuck, or you took it off road to do some work on it and then it stuck?

can u see the clutch moving thru the filler cap? if not
To check wether arm is workinking the plates, if you slacken the clutch cover screws and pull the clutch lever, does ths cover flex(come away from the main cases) if not, its not releasing....

Took it off the road with the clutch working fine to do the bearing for the output shaft for the shft drive and now the clutch not working.

Yes mark tired that today and you can see clutch moving, asked my mechanic i use a lot and even he is stumped.

So bearings on output shaft replaced, do they spin OK? Clutch might be fine and its the shafts in the g/box causing a problem?? Just a thought
