bike splutters

#1 PostAuthor: zman » Thu Jun 23, 2011 11:58 am

Hi guys. This is a problem that I've asked about before and thought was solved. :( :(
[BEFORE]when the bike is at a speed of about 60mph for a Mins or 2 she started to splutter/misfire.like she was running out of fuel.
After trying a few suggestions what seamed to solve it was removing air filter[k&n type]so replaced with new standard.ALL SEAMED WELL

ON the way back from our gathering on Sunday we went a faster route. And the problem returned.
But this time moved to 80mph.
When we returned to country roads with speeds going up and down NO PROBLEM.
ANY IDEARS?

Ensure your carbs are clean, and float levels are correct , have you an inline fuel filter :?:

This does sound like fuel starvation ,see my post above with fuel cap locked see if you get a good fuel flow from both fuel outlets!!!drain a ggod half gallon off into a can and make sure it doesnt slow down!!!
