let me refraise that, will a later type 4/1 exhaust as fitted to a J model, or ELR for example fit the early type Z1000

don't think so. The earlier types certainly will fit.

no not with out mods a z1r 4-1 system fits a1 -a2 z1000 some one on here had it fitted to a z900 as i got it from him

Only mods will be to the silencer mounting . Pipe will fit into the head ok .
