Hi all ,after todays abortive MOT run i find myself in need of a good head for my Z1b.i know the a4 head will fit but is the z1000 a1,a2 the same as well, seem to think it is? Paul J....just a thought is is possible to have a cracked rev counter entry repaired perhaps sleeved or welded and rebored?

Hi Chris ,the one fitted at the mo has the larger exhaust studs, gonna pull it to bits today and see the score, looks like it has split the tunnel, there are some bits of the cam spiral thread missing as well reckon they are in the sump! will pull that off as well and have a look, just goes to show what a small part failing can do,good job it went early and not at high speed! will try and get some pics,Cheers Paul J..

What about the combustion chamber diameter :?:
We all know that the 903cc bikes have a 66mm bore, and a combustion chamber diameter to match. But does the 1015cc head have a 70mm combustion chamber diameter.
It'd only lower the CR a marginal amount, but I thought it may be worth mentioning that's all.

Paul,

If you speak to Dave at Weldspek I am sure he will be able to sort it for you.
