oil change and sludge..?

just carried out an oil change on the bike , took it for a spin today , checked the oil after.
the oil level in the glass is a good level but on top it looks like there is a light brown sludge appeared .
what is this

Could be a little condensation in the cases. How long did your ride last. A good long ride will get ride of the condensation.

Bunny, try & do 20 - 30 miles. That should sort it out.

Hi all,
take it for a good spin, then take the oil filler cap off for a few mins, this wil let any condensation rise out, works for me on all my bikes..

+1 on condensation, I have a see through clutch cover and when bike stands for some time glass gets milky at startup and cleares after about 30 mins use, with more frequent use less condensation appears, none it the summer

Agree with condensation comments. Could also be residue of old oil that has separated and sitting on top of old oil, have you put in same grade of oil? Have you used same type of oil (mineral or semi synthetic)? How dirty was old oil? If very dirty then carbon deposits could well have been left in motor (lets face it there is always some left in the sump pan) these could well sit on top of new oil when settled out.
Give it a real good run as suggested and check again.

It could have something to do with the fact you have no washer on the filter spring
