Just finishing off my project Z1b and have started to re-build front calipers, looking at the o rings that go on the grooves in the bolts i thought they were just a common size i would have in my o ring kit, does not seem to be the case with ordinary o rings fitted caliper will not slide freely the couple i had left that are original seem an odd size, does anyone know what size they are? just looked on z power and the only ones they seem to have are £3.50 each! i need 16 seems a lot for a small o ring, looking at a set of a4 calipers the bolts are straight with no grooves did Kawasaki decide that the o rings were not essential? Thanks in advance Paul J..

How many calipers are you building? there are only 2 o rings on each slide pin, 4 per caliper. the O rings go in the outer grooves.

Thanks Jerry, what has thrown me is that when i stripped them all 4 pins had four o rings on?.So is it the case that the o rings just go on the grooves right next to the allen bolt head and the groove right next to the threads?.Does the caliper then slide or float along the centre section which has no o rings fitted? Thanks Paul J...

The O Rings go in the middle grooves, item 33. The outer grooves are for the dust seals 32. You will need to smear the o rings with red rubber grease so that the caliper bracket slides over them.
